Need current EPA charts to determine wind loading on a pole assembly? How about an anchor bolt template for a new pole installation? All the aluminum, cast iron, and cast iron and steel decorative poles shown on Holophane’s Web site now have these two new file types displayed along with the spec sheets and brochures. They’re easy to find under “”EPA Charts” and “Templates.”
The Holophane Prismasphere has always been designed to complement exterior landscape and site architecture by bringing historically significant elegance to outdoor lighting applications. Now, it has been updated with LED technology to offer an energy-efficient lighting solution to the architectural outdoor lighting market.
Incorporating a variety of decorative trims, the Prismasphere LED can adapt to any architectural theme. It completely integrates form and function, with the entire surface area directing light where it is needed in a controlled, uniform distribution. The luminaire is available in both 58W (350mA) and 116W (700mA) LED configurations.
The new Petrolux® LED (PLED) luminaire from Holophane provides a reliable, low-maintenance lighting solution for harsh environments and wet locations. It’s noted for its optical design and robust thermal-management system.
The PLED provides outstanding vertical illumination, uniformity and application efficacy, and is designed with multiple lumen packages and several optical choices. Uses include a variety of industrial environments: waste water treatment, power generation, petro-chemical, pulp and paper, textile, and ethanol and biodiesel production.
The PLED also is great for certain outdoor locations such as parking garages.
Holophane’s Washington Postlite® LED luminaires have been chosen to help in the revitalization of an upscale neighborhood in the City of Vancouver, BC, Canada. The city in February 2009 launched an initiative to become the world’s greenest city by 2020.
Holophane’s Washington Postlite Series qualified as the only LED units that met the full set of Vancouver’s stringent and sustained performance criteria, including the maintenance of dark night skies and strict light-control capabilities in addition to energy savings.
Projects to relight and renovate sections of downtown Detroit included the use of Holophane’s GranVille® LED luminaires for park and street lighting. The $3.7 million projects were improvements and renovations to the city’s Paradise Valley park and Capitol Park. Both were completed prior to the end of 2010 and involved upgrading from conventional high intensity discharge (HID) lighting to Acuity Brands’ Holophane LED luminaires. The upgrades are expected to elevate the parks’ presence and provide the city with long-term energy savings.
The energy-saving promise of LED lighting is now available in a contemporary, lightweight design for commercial properties, thanks to Lithonia Lighting’s OLW14 LED fixture. The integrated design of the OLW14 (outdoor LED wallpack) provides superior optics and delivers bright, uniform illumination exactly where you need it. It’s ideal for lighting building facades, parking areas, walkways, garages and outdoor spaces that require added safety and security.
The OLW14 LED uses only 26 input watts, requiring less energy than traditional light sources. The LEDs last 50,000 hours, meaning the fixture is virtually maintenance-free for more than 10 years. It has a fully adjustable dusk-to-dawn, on/off photocell for even more energy savings, and can be surface- or recess-mounted.
William Ballweg, Lithonia Lighting’s product development manager, will be a featured speaker at the Solid State Lighting Design (“SSL Design”) 2011 Summit in Los Angeles and the Strategies in Light® conference in Santa Clara, Calif.
Ballweg will speak at SSL Design’s 2011 Summit on January 19 about using advanced, intelligent digital controls to maximize LED lighting efficiency, enhance lighting capabilities, and accelerate return on investment. He’ll speak at the Strategies in Light conference on January 23 about harnessing the collective power of intelligent digital lighting and control systems.
The Port of Los Angeles marina will include Holophane® luminaires as part of its multi-year renovation. The port’s $125 million Cabrillo Way Marina improvement project includes construction of roadways, promenades, parking lots, and parks, plus substantial harbor improvements at the 40-year-old San Pedro, Calif., facility. Now in its second phase, it is scheduled for completion in August.
Among Holophane products to be featured: Sitelink® poles, with patent-pending TracPole™ and TracLoc™ systems, and Pechina™, GlasWerks® II Prague® and Angel Light™ luminaires. The port also uses Hydrel® brand in-ground metal halide lights, also from Acuity Brands.
SwitchPak, a compact and economical lighting-control panel from Synergy Lighting Controls, is now available to integrate with building automation systems using BACnet communication as a standard option. BACnet is the world-wide standard protocol for building automation and control systems. For more information, visit the Synergy Lighting Controls Web site.
